Staging can be as minimal as moving furniture around or a fresh coat of paint, or as extensive as an entire re-design. A recent study found that stages homes sell in half the time of non staged homes and at a much higher price.  Here are a few things you can do now to spruce up your "stage".

Create more light in each room.                                                  Replace light dampening window treatments with roman shades or sheers.      

Consider off-white or neutral paint for walls.                                Darker colors make rooms look smaller and dominant colors may be a turnoff to prospective buyers. 

Get Rid of clutter.                                                                                        Create clean lines by boxing up photos, papers and books that don't fit neatly on the bookshelf.
